Shutdowns & Turnarounds
Fixed window. Fixed date. No second chance.
01Overview
A turnaround is the most expensive thing a plant does voluntarily. Every day of overrun is measured in lost production, and the schedule is built backwards from a restart date that does not move.
Plejad mobilises additional qualified trades into turnaround organisations — piping, mechanical, welding and support disciplines — pre-inducted, documented and ready to work shift patterns from day one.
02Capabilities
What this discipline covers.
- 01Mobilisation of additional qualified trades at short notice
- 02Piping, mechanical and welding execution during outages
- 03Tie-in and replacement works within the shutdown window
- 04Shift working and extended-hours coverage
- 05Pre-mobilisation induction and documentation preparation
- 06Support to the client's turnaround management structure
03Typical scope
Work packages typically contracted under this discipline.
- —Planned annual or multi-year turnaround support
- —Emergency outage response with rapid mobilisation
- —Tie-in campaigns connecting new plant to existing
- —Heat exchanger, vessel and piping intervention works
- —Peak-load manpower for the client's own crews

Scope is confirmed per project. Capabilities listed here are indicative and adjusted to the specification, permit regime and client procedures of each site.
04Execution approach
How the discipline is planned, staffed and closed out.
01
Mobilised before day one
Inductions, medicals and documentation are completed before the outage starts. Turnaround time is not induction time.
02
Built for shift work
Crews are structured for continuous coverage with a clear handover between shifts, which is where turnarounds lose hours.
03
Scope discipline
Discovered work is raised through the client's change process immediately, not absorbed quietly and argued about later.
04
Demobilise clean
Documentation, tooling and the working area are closed out as the unit hands back, not weeks after restart.
